CANTE ALENTEJANO SCHOOL
Cante Alentejano is an a capella traditional singing style from the Portuguese region of Alentejo, which has been acknowledged by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, on the 27th November 2014.
The Rancho de Cantadores de Paris is the only Cante Alentejano group in France, and the first international group in the world. In order to safeguard this Portuguese polyphonic singing genre, in June 2017 the Compagnie des Rêves Lucides founded a Cante Alentejano school in Paris, the first one being created outside Portugal.

The rehearsals of the school are weekly and for free, for those who pay the 20€ annual fee. On the second Tuesday of every month, instead of rehearsing, the students and the group meet at the pub The Quiet Man (Quartier Beaubourg) to eat, drink and sing spontaneously. The students who reach a good level in Cante may join the group Rancho de Cantadores de Paris. The members of the group have free access to the advanced level rehearsals, concerts and trips with the Rancho de Cantadores de Paris.
